Laakio & Pettersson are two gallant serial entrepreneurs with more ideas and enthusiasm than talent. The comic strip appeared in a business/lifestyle magazine Bisnes.fi in 2006. Continue reading
This comic strip is part of the wonderful “69 Love Songs, Illustrated” project by Julia Scheele. The aim is to illustrate all the songs on the Magnetic Fields’ concept album of the same name. This is my first comic strip drawn entirely on the iPad.

If you spend your whole life waiting for the storm, you’ll never enjoy the sunshine.

In my previous role as a web producer at Greenpeace Nordic (Helsinki office) I worked quite a lot with creative professionals (oh happy times). Here’s an animation we commissioned from a Finnish animation collective Animaatiokopla for our anti-nuclear campaign (Finnish Parliament voted on nuclear power in 2010. One party in particular, the Conservatives, were strongly pro nuclear -the main animation character is the Conservative leader. The disaster scene at the beginning of the video refers to problems and cock-ups reported at a Finnish nuclear plant construction site).
I wrote the basic script and drew the first rough storyboard. The song (which is “pro nuclear” in a tongue in cheek kind of way) was done by Greenpeace volunteers, I think. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to produce a pro version of the song.
Deep in thought underground.
